The India UK Achievers programme is NISAU’s flagship initiative — and the most prestigious honour for Indians educated abroad.

We started the India UK Achievers Honours to commemorate the historic ties between our two nations — dating back to Indian students like Gandhi, Ambedkar, Nehru, and more — and to elevate the alumni who now shape our world. Launched with the theme “75 at 75” to mark India’s 75th Independence anniversary, the first Honours were announced on the occasion of India’s Republic Day in London in January 2023. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh holds the Achievers Lifetime Achievement Honour. 
Organised in partnership with the UK Government and the British Council, this landmark initiative recognises and celebrates Indian students and alumni of UK institutions who are making exceptional contributions across society — from public service to science, the arts, innovation, entrepreneurship, and beyond.
We believe international students are not just migrants — they are leaders, innovators, and nation-builders. Achievers is how we tell that story at the highest levels of society, policy, and culture.
